Line
A line is an identifiable path created by a point moving in space. It is one-dimensional and can vary in width, direction, and length. Lines often define the edges of a form. Lines can be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal, straight or curved, thick or thin. They lead your eye around the composition and can communicate information through their character and direction.
In this photo of a staircase rail in Aragon high school, I see a brick red lines, a staircase rails, and a dried up water lines. The Line, can be seen in the rails ,and the wall. This line conveys a sense of value in my opinion. This image is appealing to me because of the contrast created by the slanted and the strait line.
In this photo of a guardrail, I see rows, columns of metal rails. The line(s), can be seen in the rows and columns of of the metal. This line conveys a sense of realism in my opinion. This image is appealing to me because the lines fade away in the distance creating a sense of proportion.
